‘On Pins and Needles’, a company that hosts horror-themed events, is planning on bringing Halloween inspired spookiness to Arizona on a year-round basis.
Maggie Mater, the owner of On Pins and Needles, came up with the idea after discussing common fictional horror tropes that often see characters perish; such as walking into a darkened room or building without turning on a light, or investigating a strange noise by themselves.
Mater said, “We thought that if someone just used their brains, they should be able to survive that scenario. How much fun would it be to prove that survival is possible?”
The event itself is called “F13: Survive Jason” and is inspired by the iconic hockey-masked Halloween villain, Jason Voorhees, from the “Friday the 13th” movie franchise.
Players must solve a series of puzzles and make it to the ‘escape point’ before time runs out – or risk becoming Jason’s next victim.
For $25 per person, groups of up to 8 people have 25 minutes (with a 10 minute overtime period) and a shrinking play area to complete game, which is only open to those who are 18-years old and above.
Oh, and as the play area shrinks, additional ‘weapons’ are added to to assist both the players and the killer. So be on the lookout!
