London’s Electronic Theatre Plans to Become the UK’s Biggest Escape Room

Electronic Theatre – based in South East London – is receiving a huge £9 million funding boost to help them achieve their goal of becoming the most popular chain of escape rooms in the UK.

Their unique concept follows the growing trend of futuristic and highly digitalised escape rooms – branching away from the classic concept and becoming increasingly popular.

Players step into a light box, which is illuminated by a series of interactive games and puzzles. What makes Electronic Theatre stand out from their digital competitors is the lack of headsets involved – which is typically common in VR-themed escape games.

Although these ‘interactive digital rooms’ can be costly to set up, they’re much more versatile than regular escape rooms, as they can be updated and changed simply by using a computer.

Electronic Theatre currently has eight light boxes, which can fit up to six people at a time. Their games include the: “Alien Aptitude Test” and, “Rescue the Royals”, which involves a quest to rescue the Queen!

With their £9 million funding boost, Electronic Theatre hopes to open nine more venues around the UK! Good luck to them!
