Escape room company, ‘The Escape Game’, in Midtown Manhattan, have designed their escape rooms with an increased focus on customizability and inclusivity.
If you’re wondering what exactly that means in relation to the room itself – it means that the specific difficulty of each room can be increased or decreased depending on the skill level of the group.
An escape room’s difficulty is normally set in stone. Meaning novices will usually select room A and veterans will usually select room B, and so on. Although this is the standard method of room design – and has worked well so far – there is an obvious downside…
Novices will tend to shy away from difficult rooms and vice versa, meaning they’re unlikely to experience all the rooms on offer.
The geniuses at ‘The Escape Game’ found a simple solution to this problem. The game masters simply modify the clues and puzzles depending on how quickly the group is advancing through the room.
CEO Roger Clayton said, “We try to make it so the game rewards everyone.”
The company features five meticulously designed rooms, including titles such as: ‘Gold Rush’, ‘Special Ops’, ‘The Heist’, ‘Playground’ and ‘Prison Break’. The exciting thing about their venue is that it is located in an old bank vault on Madison Avenue. No expense has been spared!
So if you’re in New York and looking for a customizable escape experience where you won’t have to worry about a dedicated difficulty rating, give them a visit!
