Actors Will Smith and Tom Holland – co-stars of the animated feature film ‘Spies in Disguise’ – have spoken about how they were able to forge a solid friendship during the filming process of their hit new film.
As an animated movie, the filming process is completely different from regular movies, with actors only required to supply their voice for their animated characters.
The duo even mentioned that they completed most of their lines in opposite coasts! With Smith doing most of his work on the West Coast in Los Angeles and Holland doing his in New York!
When they eventually met, they decided that playing an escape room would be the best icebreaker, and the quickest way of getting to know each other.
Smith said, “We made a whole movie together, but when you’re doing animations it’s just voice work. We literally just met for the first time.”
He continued, “We were wanting to figure out if we really could do the stuff that we did as spies. It was a 1-hour escape room, and we were out in 24 minutes.”
Tom Holland went on to say, “I think Will got the majority of the clues. I was more like the hype-man. I’ve never actually escaped an escape room, so the secret to escaping is to do it with Will Smith because he’s really good at it!”
Escape rooms are known to be one of the most effective methods available for team bonding, so it’s no surprise that they decided to try one out for themselves!
